Video Preview: Sunday in the Park with George
This week has been a rough, long week, but a week that has been worth it. Usually teching shows during the summer at Blackfriars is a breeze, but not this year. Here is a little video I made last night of select portions of the songs during one of our final rehearsals for Sunday in [...]
Tommy Part 2: Achy, Tired & Seeing Double
The other half of me actually dedicating my time to TOMMY of actually being in the show, was working on the numerous amount of projections in the show. Around 3 months ago I was approached by the director Jack to start designing the projections. Because of the vary rock, trippy, 60′s nature of this show [...]
Tommy Part 1: Deaf, Dumb & Blind
So the last 2 months have pulled me away from working on my bike and getting it on the road, but all for good reason. However I am rethinking the “good reason” now that I have a bike in pieces and the weather is warm. We started rehearsals on The Who’s Tommy and well, life [...]
An elf named Crumpet…
Having a very busy December, I am just now getting to editing and posting these pictures from Blackfriars Theatre’s production of The Santaland Diaries. Not much to write about, one man show, David Kyle was in it. It was funny. The pics cannot do justice to the show, but here they are any way for [...]
According to Doyle…
as I get to learn the new space at Blackfriars Theatre, the new angles have provided an interesting challenge. Of Fred Astaire and grumpy elves
Only a couple of weeks have passed since we closed Zorba the musical, and here we are now geting ready to open the next 3 shows at Blackfriars within very little time. The first opening this week is According to Goldman, a film buff type play with shades of Fred Astaire. Christian Palmer and Peter [...]
Zorba runs a marathon…
The Greeks may have invented the marathon, but it sure felt as if we were running a sprint to mount this show and raise this theatre.
Of dancing Greeks and whilring dervishes…
Below are the Publicity pictures for Blackfriars Theatre’s production of Zorba the Musical. You might remember the name Zorba if you are unfamiliar with the musical, from the movie starring Anthony Quinn. Had a load of fun with the cast whipping out these photos, despite the heat. Zorba is the first show that will be [...]
Pub time…MOMTM
This week opens our most recent show at Blackfriars Theatre, “Musical of Musicals, the Musical”. But instead of it opening at Blackfriars Theatre, we are bowing to the gracious hosts of Geva Theatre, who have allowed us to use their second stage to mount our show.
New beginnings on a new venue (Part I)…
Part I of a new series involving the construction of the Blackfriars Theatre new venue space.
